Terror funding case: NIA interrogates two sons of Gilani

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) interrogated Nayeem and Nasim, sons of Hurriani Syed Ali Shah Geelani, on Tuesday as part of an investigation into the matter of taking money from separatists from Pakistan to spread unrest in Kashmir Valley.

In the Terror funding case, the NIA had arrested seven separatist leaders from Kashmir on July 24 this year, including Bitta Karate, Nayeem Khan, Altaf Ahmed Shah (Altaf Fanush), Ayaz Akbar, T. Saifullah, Meraj Kalwal and Shaheed-ul-Islam is included. Altaf is the son-in-law of the Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

NIA had arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leader Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate in Delhi while rest of the separatist leaders in Srinagar. Ayaz Akbar is also close to Syed Ali Shah Geelani, also the spokesperson of Ayaz Tehreek-e-Hurriyat. While Shahid-ul-Islam is a spokesperson for the moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference. The leader of this faction is Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

 

Explain that NIA had questioned three separatist leaders Nayeem Khan, Gazi Javed Baba and Bitta Karate in Delhi in May. At the same time, he had accepted funding from Pakistan. Earlier in May, NIA had also questioned the leader of Tehrik-e-Hurriyat Baba and JKLF leader Karate in Srinagar for 4 consecutive days. During that time, they were questioned about the allegation of fund raising funds through hawala channels for violence in Kashmir.

The investigating agency has arrested eight separatists in the case of investigating the financing of terrorism by Pakistan and its terrorist organizations there. They have been arrested in connection with criminal conspiracy and war on India.
