New Delhi: The echo of the Maratha movement on the demands of Maratha reservation was heard in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said in the Legislative Assembly that reservations for Marathas have been placed in front of the National Backward Classes Commission. The Commission will consider giving them reservation by studying the possibility of reservation.

These funds will be given by the Maharashtra government in every district. Today CM has also met the Maratha Morcha and all political parties to discuss this movement.

Today, due to the Maratha movement, there has been a lot of trouble for the Mumbaikars. The Maratha community had organized ‘the biggest’ silent Maratha March ‘for its various demands including reservations in Mumbai. Since such a first rally was held in Aurangabad on August 9 last year, the Maratha society has since then removed peace march in 57 cities of Maharashtra.

The people of Maratha community started this morning at Jijamata Garden in Bhiikhla at 11 a.m. Millions of people joined this rally in the Maratha Revolution. It also saw a large number of youths and women’s participation. The rally was to end in the Azad Maidan of Mumbai at 5 o’clock.

Other demands of the Maratha community
In addition to the 16 per cent reservation in jobs and education, the Maratha community is also demanding execution of convicts of Kopardi ganp rap in Ahmednagar’s Kopardi last year. This case is still pending in the court.

The aggregate Maratha community, which unites different Maratha groups, is the organizer of this program. Given this march, schools in Mumbai city were closed today while the schools of Suburban area were open. With this, the local of Mumbai did not work today to support this March and take part in it.
