Venkaiah Naidu elected 15th Vice-President, got 516 votes out of 771, PM congratulates

Venkaiah Naidu has been elected as the 15th Vice President of the country. In this election, Venkaiah Naidu was on behalf of the NDA, while the opposition had a fight between former West Bengal Governor and Gandhiji’s grandson Gopalakrishna Gandhi. In the total of 771 votes, Venkaiah Naidu got 516 votes and 244 votes in Gopal Krishna Gandhi’s account.

On being elected Vice-President of Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave him a good wishes after going to the house. There is a celebratory atmosphere at Naidu’s house, where Naidu and his wife Usha celebrate this victory by feeding each other with sweets.

At the same time, Venkaiah Naidu expressed his unanimous acceptance of all the parliament members who rose above the party line and voted in favor of him. With this, he tweeted, “I promise to maintain high standards set by the Constitution and our respected predecessors.”

 

 

 

Before this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and greeted Wakaya Naidu as the Vice President of India. He also said, I believe that Venkaiah Naidu will serve the nation as a hardworking and devoted Vice-President committed to the goal of nation building.

 

 

 

 

Gopal Krishna Gandhi congratulated him on this victory of Venkaiah Naidu. At the same time, he thanked voting for his favor and said that I would get more votes than expected. Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad thanked those who voted against the NDA and said that if victory or defeat, the opposition will never compromise with its ideology.
