One killed, 16 injured as terrorists hurl grenade at Jahangir Chowk in Srinagar

Srinagar: In the busy Jahangir Chowk area of Srinagar, a citizen’s life was lost in Thursday’s grenade attack. In this attack 15 other people, including three policemen, were injured. A police officer said that the attack took place at 5.00 Am in the morning and it appears that the security personnel posted in the Jehangir Chowk area were on target.

According to the official, 16 people were injured in the grenade explosion. One of them, Maqsood Shah, later died. He was a resident of Badgam district. SSP Imtiaz Parre of Srinagar said that the grenade attacker was also allegedly injured in the blast. He said, “According to the eyewitnesses, the person who hurled the grenade was also involved in the wounded. We are trying to confirm this. ”
