Where did the slogan come from

According to media reports, credit goes to Congress leader Yusuf Mehraali, writing Quot India’s slogan. According to Yusuf’s biographer Madhu Dandavate, Yusuf had a booklet publication named QUIT INDIA. This booklet was brought in the evening of the 1942 movement. The said photo is taken from their own book. He wrote in his book, “Shantikumar Morarji has recorded that Gandhi conferred with his colleagues in Bombay on the best slogan for independence – when this was not said. One of them suggested ‘Get out’ Gandhi rejected it as being impolite Rajagopalachari mentioned ‘Retreat’ or ‘Withdraw’ That too did not find favour Yusuf Meherali presented Gandhi with a bow bearing the inscription ‘Quit India’ Gandhi said in approval, ‘Amen’. “One of the co-founders of Yusuf Mehrauli Center, GG Parikh says that Yusuf ji had printed several badges written by QUIT INDIA before August 7, 1942.
