North Korea fires Scud-class ballistic missile

In the Korean Peninsula, North Korea conducted another missile test on Monday . This is the third test of this kind in three weeks. North Korea has done 12 missile tests this year. It is believed that this series of tests is part of North Korea’s campaign to achieve missile technology that can traverse the continents.

Japan says that the missile dropped 200 nautical miles from its coast in the Japan Sea. According to the US military, this was a short-range ballistic scud missile. It traveled about 450 kilometers in 6 minutes. This is the second time this year when North Korea’s missile has fallen near the Japanese border.

South Korea condemns
South Korea condemned the missile test. Seoul called it a ‘serious warning’ Recently, Moon Jae-in who became the Prime Minister in South Korea. In a statement issued after the Missile Test, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said, “After the election of new leadership this test is a direct challenge to our efforts to restore peace.”

North Korea is under increasing pressure

In the last week’s conference of G-7 countries, US President Donald Trump had assured that the problem of North Korea would be resolved.
