Nitish will undertake aerial surveys of flood affected Siemanchal region today

Simanchal area of Bihar is currently in the grip of floods. Due to the continuous heavy rains in Nepal and in the districts of Simanchal, due to torrential rains, flood situation has arisen in Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj and Katihar.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will leave for Purnea from Patna at 11:00 AM on Monday, from where he will conduct aerial survey of all these 4 districts of Simanchal through helicopter.also conduct a meeting with officer’s To deal with the floods and also to take care of relief and rescue work for the victims.

 




It is worth mentioning that due to continuous rains in the area, there has been a bad condision in Kishanganj district. On one hand, water has penetrated in hundreds of villages, while in urban areas two to three feet water is filled. The most affected areas of Kishanganj are Kochadhaman, Thakurganj and Dighlabank Block. The affected people have to leave their homes and go to safer places.

In addition to the Kishanganj station, water has also penetrated in Faribisganj station of Arriya, which disrupts rail service. The movement of several important trains on Delhi-Guwahati and Kolkata- Guwahati route has also been affected.

Meanwhile, Nitish talked to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the phone on the condition of flood situation and sought the help of army to deal with the situation. Significantly, floods occurring every year in the eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar’s Seemanchal region are a major problem. Bihar has suffered a lot due to floods in Simanchal, especially in Kosi river.
