Nirmala Sitharaman took charge of the Defense Minister, counting his priorities
Nirmala Sitharaman took charge of Defense Minister on Thursday. He is the country’s first full time female Defense Minister. In Cabinet reshuffle, Prime Minister Modi has entrusted Nirmala Sitharaman with the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense.
Since Manohar Parrikar’s CM’s formation in Goa, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was in charge of the additional charge of the Defense Ministry. In front of the new Defense Minister, there are many challenges related to the country’s security.

After taking charge, what said Nirmala Sitharaman?
After taking charge of the Ministry of Defense on Thursday, Nirmala Sitharaman said that India is a big buyer of defense material. However, now many products are being made in India too. For the defense manufacturers working in India, the market will also be seen in the world. Along with this the welfare of the security forces, preparations and welfare of their families will also be our priority.
Due to Arun Jaitley’s being in Japan, Nirmala Sitharaman could not take the charge as Defense Minister.
