NIA to get its headquarter after 9 years of foundation, Rajnath will be inaugurated NIA headquarter

National Investigation Agency (NIA) is going to meet its headquarters after nine years of formation. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the new headquarters of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Lodhi road in Delhi on Tuesday.

The Home Minister laid the foundation stone of the NIA headquarters on September 10, 2015. The program will also include Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with Hansraj Gangaram Ahir and Kiran Rijiju.




This office of NIA will be used for administrative purposes. There are nine floors in total and two are basement. The office complex of the Investigation Agency has been constructed in 1,15,056 square feet.

Founded after the Mumbai attack

Under the NIA Act 2008, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was established on December 31, 2008. The objective of its establishment was to investigate terrorist activities, such as serious criminal cases affecting the country’s unity, integrity and security. Let me tell you that there was a demand for the establishment of a National Investigation Agency after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. And the Central Government immediately formed it.

These cities have NIA’s branch

National Investigation Agency has branches in many states of the country. These include Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kochi, Guwahati, Mumbai, Kolkata, Raipur and Jammu. In addition, there are campuses of NIA in Chandigarh, Srinagar, Chennai, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Jagdalpur, Patna, Siliguri, Malda, Ranchi, Vijayawada and Imphal.
