Nepal: in bewteen Sikkim doklam standoff ,Sushma meets Bhutan’s Foreign Minister Damcho Dorjee.

Kathmandu: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Bhatan’s Foreign Minister Damcho Dorjee on Friday on the stalemate between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Doklam area of Sikkim sector. It is believed that the two leaders discussed bilateral issues.

Both leaders have come to Nepal to participate in a meeting of the Foreign Ministers from member countries of the Bay of Bengal Initiative (BIMSTEC) for multilateral technical and economic cooperation. BIMSTEC is a group of countries in South Asia and South East Asia. Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal are member countries of BIMSTEC.

 





Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravi Kumar posted a picture of the meeting and tweeted, “Time with a close friend and neighbor. Apart from the BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers meeting, the External Affairs Minister met Bhutan’s Foreign Minister Damcho Dorjee.

However, there was no official statement about what happened between the two leaders. This meeting happened in the background of the current deadlock in Dokalam. doklam is the link between India, China and Bhutan.
