Mexico earthquake kills at least 61 and sparks mass evacuations

The number of deaths has increased to 60 due to the earthquake that struck Mexico’s southern coast. Hundreds of buildings collapsed due to this most powerful earthquake in Mexico, which caused panic-stricken people to get out on the streets at midnight. So far, at least 60 people have died here.




Mexico’s Civil Defense Agency chief confirmed 61 people dead in the southern state of Oaxaca. Another 12 people died in Chiapas and three others died on the Gulf Coast of Tabasco. The USGS reported that the earthquake was on Thursday night at 11.40 am (local time). Its center was in the depths of 69.7 kilometers from the land in 165 kilometers west of Tapchula in South Chiapas. Several hours after this earthquake shocks were felt in the area.
