Jharkhand’s ex-CM Madhu Koda convicted in coal scam,sentenced announced on Thursday

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda has been convicted by the court in the coal scam. There are allegations of criminal conspiracy, cheating and misuse of its position on the whip.

Delhi’s special CBI court has convicted former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Madhukar Koda, former coal secretary S Suchi Gupta, former Jharkhand Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Basu and another one under criminal conspiracy and sections -120 B, 420 and Section 409. All of them will be sentenced on Thursday.




Explain that this case is related to irregularities in the allocation of the North coal blocks in Jharkhand. The block was allocated to Kolkata-based Winnie Iron and Steel Industries Limited (VISUL).

In the case, Koda can be sentenced to life imprisonment.
