new delhi [mithilanchalnews.in]:-French President Emmanuel Macron is on a four-day visit to India along with his wife Brigitte Marie-Claude Macron and senior ministers from his Cabinet. Issues relating to terrorism and maritime security are to be discussed with President Macron during his visit. The discussion items also include five-decade-old Indo-French cooperation, renewable energy, and bilateral trades.
On his first day itself, Indian and French companies penned down contracts worth 13 Billion Euros. Also, India and France exchanged 14 agreements in strategic areas, education, urban development etc. An Industrial Way Forward Agreement was also signed between India’s NPCIL and French utility EDF for building six nuclear reactors in Jaitapur.
President Macron is expected to attend the International Solar Alliance Summit or ISA on 11th March while visiting Agra’s Taj Mahal the same day. He is also expected to visit PM Modi’s parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on March 12 and later inaugurate a solar plant in Mirzapur, UP.
