South Africa’s star batsman Hashim Amla has completed 7000 runs in ODI cricket on Monday. Amla also broke the world record of captain Virat Kohli, who scored 7,000 runs in the lowest innings in ODIs. He has scored 55 runs in the third ODI against England at Lord’s.
Virat Kohli touched a 7000-run mountain in 161 innings while Amla had played 150 innings to reach the milestone. Amla demolished the record of Kohli as he scored 23 runs in the match. Earlier, Amla had also broken the record of Virat Kohli’s fastest 6000 runs to complete. The record for the completion of 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 runs in the lowest innings in the name of Amla is also recorded.
After completing the fastest seven-thousand runs, Amla and AB de Villiers (166), Sourav Ganguly (174) and Brian Lara (183) are the other Indians after Virat Kohli. Hashim Amla is in excellent form at the present time. In IPL-10 held in India, Amla had played two hundreds of innings from Kings XI Punjab.
In February 2017, Amla had scored a superb 154 against Sri Lanka in Centurion. In ODIs, he has scored 7,031 runs with 24 centuries. Kohli is six years junior to them, but the runs are slightly ahead of them in the case. Kohli has 27 centuries and 7755 runs in his name.
