Former MP and RJD leader Prabhunath Singh guilty of murder case; Decision on punishment on May 23

    Ranchi: A Jharkhand court convicted former MP and RJD leader Prabhunath Singh on Thursday in a 22-year-old murder case. Jharkhand court convicted Prabhunath Singh in the 22-year-old case of murder of MLA Ashok Singh.
    Additional district and sessions court of Hazaribagh district convicted Prabhunath Singh, his brother Dinanath Singh and Ritesh Singh in this case.

    Ashok Singh was elected MLA from Musharq constituency in Bihar in 1995. He defeated Prabhunath Singh. He was murdered only 90 days after this election victory. In 1995, Prabhunath Singh was in the Janata Dal and later he joined Janata Dal (United). At present, he is in the RJD.
    Ashok Singh’s brother Tarakeswar Singh told a news channel, “My brother had defeated Mr. Prabhunath Singh in the election in 1995. After this, Mr. Prabhunath had openly said that his brother was murdered within 90 days of becoming a legislator. Will be done and 90 days later he was murdered. ”

    The court will pronounce verdict on May 23 The case was transferred from Bihar to the Hazaribagh court in Jharkhand on the order of the Supreme Court.
