new delhi:Election Commission has taken steps to stop speaking of leaders who question the EVM machine. The country’s next Lok Sabha election to be held in 2019 will be done only through Voter Vefable Paper Audit Trail machines. The Voterate machine itself will be able to see that the voter who voted for it did not get votes. If needed, it will be re-counted with the result of the EVMs while voting, and it will also be mixed with EVM results.
Central Government sanctioned Rs. 3173 crores 47 lakhs for VVPAT, and the EC handover the order to make machines without delay, to the two special companies of the country. The Commission has given order to prepare 8 lakh 7 thousand 500 machines for both PSU companies ECIL and BEL. In the order issued on April 21, the Commission has strictly warned both the companies that full attention should be taken to protect safety standards and designs approved by the Expert Committees. The Commission has asked the two companies to supply the machines in the name of the CMD’s name in September 2018. So that the Technical Expert team can test them on all the criteria and try to comfort them.
For the VVPat machines, the EC had to write a letter written to the government 12 times for the financial sanction. After the Supreme Court’s order to conduct the general elections with the VVPAT machines in 2013, the Commission has been asking the UPA and then the NDA government to write a letter and arrange for the budget. Now the Central Government approved the budget. After the recent assembly elections, many opposition parties, including the BSP, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party and Congress, raised questions about the EVM machine and said that these machines could be tampered with to win the BJP. Ho. Although both the Government and the Election Commission have repeatedly said that EVM machines are completely dependable and it is impossible to tamper with them.
Significantly, the letter written by the Election Commission on March 21 gave effect to the approval and sanction of Rs 3173.47 crore in the previous cabinet meeting for 2016-17 to 2018-19 financial year. As soon as the budget was approved, the commission also ordered the EVM machines being made immediately with VVPAT.
It is worth mentioning that in the election of the Lok Sabha to be held in 2019, there is a possibility of VVPAT facility in every booth EVMs. Our Republic will go a step further towards clean and fair voting with chalk-tight security mechanisms. Leaving the trail of its strong steps on which the world can walk.
