External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that the government will take strict action to save the prisoners languishing in Pakistani jails, to save them from the death penalty. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said in the Lok Sabha that the government told what steps they should take to save Jadhav. Mr. Kharge, while directing PM Modi, said that when PM Modi can go to congratulate Nawaz Sharif on the wedding, why did he not talk to Pakistan to save Jadhav?
Government response
In response to these allegations of Congress, information was given by the government that strict action is being taken in this matter. It was informed from the Government that officials of the Indian High Commission located in Pakistan tried to meet Jadhav for 13 times but Pakistani officials did not meet. The government will take every possible step in this matter.
