bhopal: Even in Madhya Pradesh, government is preparing for liquor ban Chief Minister Shivraj Singh announced this on Monday. Shivraj said – In a phased manner the shops of liquor will be closed one by one. Explain that Nitish Kumar had made liquor ban for the first time after forming government in Bihar. Since then, the demand for prohibition of alcohol in many states has been rising.
What did Shivraj say?
Shivraj said: Alcohol prohibition will be implemented in a phased manner in the state as a phased manner. During a program in Nirmhera area of Narsinghpur district under Namami Devi Narmade-Narmada Seva Yatra, he said, “In the first phase, the state government will close all the liquor shops for five kilometers along the Narmada river. After the first phase, alcohol will be ban in residential areas in the next phase. Especially in those areas where educational institutions and religious places are located, shops near them will be closed.
The drug addiction campaign will run
Meanwhile, he announced that the Madhya Pradesh government will also run a drug addiction campaign in the state. Let me tell you that there has been protests against the demands of shutting down liquor in the state from last month.
Demand for alcoholism in Madhya Pradesh
Let us say that on the lines of Bihar, there is a demand for liquor ban in Madhya Pradesh too. On 5th of April, the protesters threw two vehicles during protest against liquor ban in Bareilly area of Raisen district.
Earlier, on April 3, BJP’s Indore-1 MLA Sudarshan Gupta had demanded that the liquor be stopped in all the states in the state. Apart from this, protests have been taking place in Indore, Sagar, Burhanpur, Chhattarpur, Vidisha, Narsinghpur, Satna, Morena, Dewas and some areas for liquor ban from last one month.
