Team India beat Australia  in the last match of the series played in Nagpur by 7 wickets.With this win Team India become No. 1 in the ICC ODI Rankings, but has also hat-trick of victory against Australia on this ground in Nagpur. The Indian team has defeated Australia in all the three ODIs played in Nagpur, 2009 and 2017.

While batting first in this match, Australia had set a target of 243 for a win against Team India.In reply, Team India chased the target in 42.5 overs and defeated Kangaroo team by 7 wickets. On behalf of Team India, Rohit Sharma has scored his 14th century of his career. He played the fastest innings of 125 runs.




Apart from Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane also scored 61 runs, while captain Virat Kohli also scored 39 runs. Adam Zamba took 2 wickets for Australia. Rohit Sharma, the hero of this match was awarded the Man of the Match award. Along with the 222 runs in the series, Hardik Pandya, who took 6 wickets, was given the man of the series award.

With victory in Nagpur, Team India has once again won the title of ICC ODI ranking two days later. With the loss in the fourth ODI against the Kangaroo team, India lost their first place in ODI ranking.

But as a result of the fifth one-day match played in Nagpur, India overtook South Africa with 120 points and once again became the king of ODI cricket. South Africa number two with 119 points in ODI ranking, while Australia occupy No. 114 with 114 points.

Australia scored 242 runs

Despite the good start, the Australian team could only manage 242 runs in 50 overs and set a target of 243 for a win against Team India. David Warner top-scored with 53 while Australia’s Marcus Stoney played 46 runs. Travis Head also scored 42 runs.

Team India has done a fantastic job with the bowlers. Akshar Patel has bowled superbly, taking just 38 runs in 10 overs to take 3 wickets. Apart from this, Jaspreet Bumrah scored two wickets while Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kedar Jadhav got 1-1 wickets.
