PM Modi undertakes aerial survey of flood affected areas in Bihar, announces Rs 500 crore fund for relief

    Patna: In neighboring Nepal and Bihar, the number of people killed in the state has increased to 418 due to heavy rains and flood. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting flood affected areas in the state. PM Modi has left for Bihar from the plane this morning. A flood in Bihar has affected 1 million 61 lakh 67 thousand population of 19 districts.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conducted an air survey of flood affected areas of Bihar. During the air survey Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also stayed with Modi. PM Modi announced a relief package of Rs 500 crore for Bihar. Earlier, when PM Modi reached Purnea, Nitish and Sushil Modi welcomed him. Let us tell you that so far 418 people have died due to floods in Bihar.

    19 districts of bihar inclued Kishanganj, Araria, Puriyarya, Katihar, Eastern Champaran, Western Champaran, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Sitamdhi, Shivar, Samastipur, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Supaul, Madhepura, Saharsa and Khagaria are affected by floods.




    The maximum number of people in Araria, 87 people, 43 in Sitamarhi, 40 in Katihar, 36 in Western Champaran, 28 in Madhubani, 24 in Kishanganj, 26 in Darbhanga, 21 in Madhepura, 19-19 in Eastern Champaran and Gopalganj, Supaul 16, Purnia 9 , 77 in Muzaffarpur, Khagaria and Saran, 44 in Sivhar and Saharsa and one person died in Samastipur.

     

    So far, 781657 people have been taken to the safer place from the flood affected area and 156560 persons have been taken refuge in 624 relief camps. In addition to flood relief camps, the community kitchens are being run for those affected people who are not staying in the relief camps. In this way, total 1565 community kitchens are being run in which 344137 people are being fed food.

     

    After visiting flood affected areas, the Prime Minister will come to Patna and discuss the situation of flood with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the ministers of the government. After this meeting, the Prime Minister will visit the Chief Minister House, One, Anne Marg. Where Nitish Kumar will organize a banquet in honor of Prime Minister Modi After the banquet, Prime Minister Modi will return to Delhi.
