Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, to participate in the Shanghai Co-operation Organization (SCO) Summit. In this Summit, full time membership of SCO to India and Pakistan was given. For the first time since 2001, China-dominated SCO has expanded. With this the number of its members increased from six to eight. Addressing the SCO Summit in Astana, PM Modi said that terrorism is the biggest enemy of human values. Therefore, all countries should fight against it. He said that our relations with all countries are historic.

Modi said that the SCO could also focus its attention on the environment. Right there Nawaz Sharif congratulated India for joining SCO. He said that good relations between SCO members are extremely important. Sharif said that Pakistan is suffering from terror. In this case SCO will play an important role in the fight against terrorism. After PM Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif addressed the SCO Summit. The important thing is that the involvement of India will reduce China’s dominance. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday. Meanwhile, PM Modi thanked the Chinese President for supporting and endeavoring to subscribe to SCO in SCO.

In view of recent conflicts between the two countries regarding boundary dispute and forest belt one road project, this meeting is very important. India boycotted the One Belt One Road Summit. However, the heads of 29 countries of the world took part. This is the first meeting between the two countries after the boy belt One Road Summit boycotted. Earlier, PM Modi met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
