Had a little bit of a brain fade while facing Yadav: Finch
Ranchi: Australian opener Aaron Finch said that while facing Kuldeep Yadav, his brain had wandered a bit, so he was out. After the dismissal of Finch in the first match of the three T20 matches, Australia’s innings shattered and India won the match with nine wickets from Duckworth-Lewis.
Like ODIs, Finch appeared in the rhythm here . He played a sweep shot five times before being dismissed for 42 runs in this match, but missed a full length ball on Yadav and got bowled.
Finch said, “I thought sweeping here is a safe option. With this I could get off the strike and play the empty space and send the ball across the border. The ball on which I was bowled my brain went a little wandering. “He said,” I wanted to sweep that ball first but then the ball was out in an attempt to chip in the leg.
“It was hard to judge the bounce on a track that was quite difficult. I found sweeping was a safer option, one to get off strike and to get a boundary as well if I could pick out a gap, but I kept picking out a fielder” Finch said after the game,” he added. “The ball that I got out on was a little bit of brain fade, I went to sweep and just tried to chip him on the onside for one, and missed it.”
