A Historic Turn of Events – BJP’s Sweeping Victory in North East Elections

new delhi[mithilanchalnews]:The Bharatiya Janata Party asserted its position as a truly national party in the country with its election win in North East India. The BJP outrightly won Tripura, contrived through its ally in Nagaland and is expecting to create a regional alliance in Meghalaya. This further cements the fact that BJP has emerged as pole around which this nation’s politics operates.

“Today we have an MP in Ladakh and Kerala. We have a Government in Kohima and in Kutch” claims Amit Shah citing that BJP is a pan-India party.
The BJP party not only managed to jump its voting share from 1.5% in 2013 to a whopping 44.2% but was also able to overthrow the 25-year long term of Manik Sarkar’s supposedly invincible Left government. BJP along with its ally IPTF won 43 seats out of 60 in a crushing victory against the Communists.

In Nagaland, BJP swung between NPF and NDPP as its allies, however, given the party’s influence in North Eastern regions, it was already likely that the winning party would form an alliance with it. About 80-100% of state’s finances are controlled by Centre, where BJP is in power.

Meghalaya, however, saw the incumbent Congress party garnering 21 out of 60 seats, the highest in the region, while BJP managed only two seats. However, BJP is expecting to stitch an alliance with regional parties like NPP who won 19 seats, in order to still form a government.
After this historic win, the saffron party is yet again looking ahead and this could be heard in resonation with the party President Amit Shah’s press statement.
“Until Odisha, West Bengal and Kerala are not in our kitty, our golden period will not have started.”
