New Delhi: Today there has been an announcement regarding the benefit of reservation to the deprived people of the country and in the meaningful way. The President made the commission for reviewing the quota for all castes in the OBC reservation. Commission will tell whether quota of other backward castes can be fixed?
The main objective of this commission is to suggest ways of equal benefit to OBC caste reservation. It is worth mentioning that under the OBC reservation, only 27 percent reservations are available. This commission will give its report in three months.
President Ramnath Kovind today constituted this commission under the Article 340 of the constitution on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
The form of this commission will be something like this
(i) Chairperson – Retired Justice G Rohini
(ii) Member Dr. J.K. Bajaj
(iii) Member- Former Director of Onthropological Survey of India
(iiii) Member (Former Officer)
(v) Secretary of the Commission- In addition to the Joint Secretary of Social Justice and Authorities, Registrar General and Census Commissioner (Census) of India
The Commission will have to submit its report to the President within 12 weeks of its chairperson’s formation and handling of their charge.
