BCCI has recommended former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s name for Padma Bhushan

    New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has proposed former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the country’s third highest civilian honor, Padmabhushan. BCCI decided to recommend Dhoni’s name for Padma Bhushan with unanimous decision.

    Let us tell you that other players including Sunil Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, Chandu Borde, Professor DB Deodhar, Colonel CK Nayudu, Lala Amarnath and Raja Bhalindra Singh have been honored with this award.

    The Board has recommended this to Dhoni’s key contribution to the many major wins of Team India. Recently, Dhoni completed 300 ODIs in the series against Sri Lanka. Along with that, he completed 100 stumps in ODIs during the series.

    Currently, Dhoni is playing for India in ODI and T20 format only. He announced his retirement from Test in the middle of the Test series against Australia in late 2014. He has scored 4876 runs in 90 Tests at an average of 38.09. Which includes a double hundred also. At the same time he has scored 6 hundreds.



    In the 78 T20 matches, Dhoni has scored 1212 runs, including one half-century.

    Dhoni is the only captain of the world who has captured all the trophies of the ICC. In the captaincy of 2007, Team India became the T20 World Cup champion. In 2011, the Indian team had captured the ODI World Cup after 28 years. After this Dhoni was the captain of India’s Champions Trophy.
