Center affidavit in SC- Some Rohingya refugees contact in Pak militants, threat to country

The central government has filed a 16-page affidavit on the plan to send Rohingya Muslims back to Myanmar.

In fact, the Supreme Court had asked the government to tell its strategy for the future of the Rohingya community of Myanmar, who had been living illegally in India. While accepting the government to hear the petition against the decision of sending Rohingya community back to Myanmar, the court had asked the government to respond.

In the petition submitted by two Rohingya refugees Mohammed Salimullah and Mohammed Shakir, the government’s plan to send back Rohingya Muslims back to Myanmar has been described as an infringement of international human rights rules. Both petitioners are registered in the United Nations Refugees High Commission in India. These refugees argue that because of widespread violence against Rohingya community in Myanmar, they have to take refuge in India.

This issue became the subject of discussion after the Home Ministry instructed state governments to identify the illegal immigrants of the Rohingya community from India back in July. The petition was filed in court after the government expressed its commitment to maintain its stand.
