ICC Champions Trophy : Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma to miss India’s first warm-up match in Champions Trophy

    Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of India’s warm-up tie against New Zealand on Sunday due to viral fever, ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy which begins on June 1.

    “The BCCI medical team confirms that Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who is presently down with viral fever is making steady progress. There are no major health concerns and he is recuperating well, to the satisfaction of the medical team,” said a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement on Saturday.

     

    Yuvraj is making his comeback to the Champions Trophy after 11 years and will be playing his fifth ICC tournament.

    India will start their Group B campaign at the ICC Champions Trophy against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4 at Edgbaston before taking on Sri Lanka on June 8 and South Africa on June 11 in the eight-nation tournament. The last two games will take place at The Oval.
