Secretary of Kerala CPM, Kodariari Balakrishnan has given a very controversial statement to the army. Balakrishnan said that if the army is given full power, then they can do anything. Army can kidnap and rape any woman, any onecan shoot, but nobody has the right to question them.
According to the news agency ANI, Balakrishnan said in a seminar on conservation of minorities, “They (army) can do anything with anyone. If more than four people can see them together, they can shoot them … They can take any woman to commit rape, nobody has the right to question them, in whatever state there is an army, there is such a situation. ‘
The CPM leader said, the APSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) was implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland to curb terrorism. In these states, the army has overtaken the women of the minority community. He said, if this act was implemented in Kannur, then this would be the same, as the BJP and the RSS are demanding. Therefore, all people should come forward to oppose the demand to implement it here.
In fact, at the beginning of this month, the alleged CPI (M) workers of ruling CPM had killed a RSS worker . After this, while focusing on the political alliances in the state, Kerala BJP President Kumaraman Rajshekharan had demanded APSPA in Kannur , against which Balakrishnan made this statement.
The BJP has reacted strongly to the controversial statement of the CPM secretary. Party’s State Spokesperson JR Padmakumar said that Balakrishnan’s statement portrays an army called people and pride of the country as a kidnapper and an attacker who is a treason. He also demanded that the police register a criminal case against the CPM leader.
Let me tell you that since the LDF government came to power in the state last year, several incidents of violence and political killings have been reported between the CPI (M), RSS and BJP workers in Kannur in north Kerala.
