Farka Barrage’s review,
New Delhi: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that without making the incessant the Ganga can not be clean. People know how to be Ganga, and no study is required for this. Just as the tiger is related to the forest, so the clarity of the Ganges relates to dolphins. Dolphin has been declared a National Wildlife.
It should be counted and if this number grows, then it should be assumed that the Ganga is getting clean. On Thursday, the water resources department of Bihar on the problem of silt in the Ganges in New Delhi Aided by the two-day national conference was organized. In this, people from different regions also had different opinions
Nitish Kumar said that the problem of silt in the Ganges has been serious due to the Farakka Barrage. Due to this, the Ganga has reduced the condition, due to which the situation is getting worse in some districts of Bihar and West Bengal.
It can be estimated from the fact that in the last five years, the state government has to spend Rs. 1058 crore in erosion work. We have to bear the brunt of tampering with Ganga, nature and environment. Gandhiji had said that greed can not be fulfilled, needs can be fulfilled. The Government of Bihar has been raising the issue on several occasions. The Central Government constituted a Concerned Committee for the problem of silt The committee also believed that due to silt the flow has been affected.
Earlier on the first day of the conference, former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, MP Harivansh, Bihar’s Water Resources Minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh, Swami Avimukteswaranand, former Supreme Court Judge V Gopalgowda, social activist Sant GD Agarwal, Water Service Rajendra Singh .
The Chief Minister said that we are not demanding to break the Farakka Barrage, but considering the problem of silt it has become necessary to review it. We have to understand that the history and mood of Ganges river is different from other rivers and it is necessary to take second step to keep it uninterrupted.
