After all Pakistan has to admit that lashkar head Hafiz Saeed is a terrorist. So far, the Pakistani army has come to give advice to Saeed and his organization. The Pakistan Interior Ministry has told the judicial review board that Hafiz Saeed was interned on charges of spreading panic among his four associates in the name of jehad.
Appeal against detention
Indeed, Pakistan had seized Saeed and his four colleagues in March. On 30th April the detention was extended for 90 days. Hafiz Saeed appealed in the judicial review board against this decision. On Saturday, Saeed appeared in front of the board in this case. Saeed said that the Pakistani government has detained him for preventing the voices of the Kashmiris. However, the Pakistani Interior Ministry denied this.
What did the judicial board say?
The three judges’ board instructed the ministry to complete the record for taking Saeed and his four associates – Zafar Iqbal, Abdul Rehman Abid, Abdullah Ubaid and Kazi Kazif Niaz in custody. The next hearing of the case is to be on May 15. The Board had ordered that the Attorney General of Pakistan be presented at the next hearing.
Saeed had reached court in tight security
Hafiz Saeed was present in the court in a tight police guard with his supporters. On this occasion Saeed’s supporters were sitting outside the court. Saeed’s lawyer AK Dogar was also present, but the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba decided to keep his plea in front of the court itself. He said, allegations against me against the government have never been proved by any government agency. My organization and I have been targeted because of the voice of Kashmir’s freedom and the criticism of the government’s weak policy on Kashmir issue.
