A militant attack was carried out on the convoy of the army in Talal area of Pulwama district of Kashmir. According to reports, unknown militants have fired indiscriminately on a troop of soldiers who came out to patrol. There is no news of any casualties in the attack till the last notification is received. Army has also responded to the attack. The entire area has been surrounded and the search operation is in progress.
Continuous search operation in the area
Pulwama district of south Kashmir is included in areas where the army has been running a bigger search operation over the past few days. About 4 thousand soldiers are involved in the operation and under this, intensive search of villages in the area is being taken.

In Pulwama, the incidence of violence has increased since last year. But on 8th May there is an atmosphere of tension after the clashes between school students and security forces. The students had march against the arrest of their 7 colleagues. It was stopped by security forces. The agitated protesters attacked the security forces. In response, the security forces had to be lathi-charged, in which dozens of students were injured.
