Derby missile test successfully launched by Tejas Light Combat Aircraft

    new Delhi. India’s lightweight Combat Aircraft Tejas Air to Air Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile test was successful on Friday. This test was performed on radar mode. Air to Air Derby missile was used for the test. This missile has a perfect target on its target. Test done in Chandipur.
    – The purpose of this test was to test the capability of targeting Tejas aircraft to target targets of Derby missile. Apart from this, fire control radar, launches and missile weapon delivery of aircraft were also tested in this test.
    – This test was done in Chandipur, Orissa.
    What is special in Tejas?
    – Tejas is capable in air-to-air and air-to-surface missile firing. Antiship missiles, bombs and rockets can also be fired.
    Tejas is made up of 42% carbon fiber, 43% aluminum alloy and titanium. Single seater and its trainer variant is 2 seater.
    – Can fly up to a height of 50 thousand feet. The development cost is 7 thousand crores.
    The lightest supersonic?
    Tejas is considered to be the lightest supersonic of its kind (faster than sound speed).
    – Its maximum speed in the final operation clearance (FOC) version is 2205 km / h and the speed of initial operational clearance (IOC) will be 2000 km / h.
    Tejas better than Pak’s JF-17 Thunder
    Experts say Tejas is capable like the French Mirage-2000. It’s easy to fly because of the fly-by-wire technology.
    In Tejas, one of the world’s finest technologies is Israeli radar. The warning system found in the fighter will detect the enemy’s missile or aircraft.
    Tejas can fly just 460 meters running on the runway. JF-17 requires a 600 meter runway to fly.
    – Pilot has been provided a glass cockpit for real-time information.
    – Tejas has a fuel capacity of 2,458 kg, while JF-17 has 2,268 kg.
