Despite the prohibition of alcohol, tourists have increased by 68% in bihar

patna: Those who were thinking that after the prohibition of alcohol in Bihar, the tourism industry in the state will be in dire straits, they are in fact mingled. According to Bihar Government Department of Tourism, in the year 2016-17, arrival of foreign tourists in Bihar has increased by 68 percent and arrival of foreign tourists has increased by 9 percent. That prohibition in Bihar started from April 1, 2016 and full prohibition was effective from April 5.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seems to be very excited about this. He said that those who were propagating that after the prohibition of liquor in Bihar, the tourism industry will be in dire straits, this is the answer for them. According to statistics, in Bihar, in 2015-16, there were 1 crore 69 lakh tourists, whereas in 2016-17 it has increased to 2.85 million.

Nitish Kumar said that prohibition of liquor has not affected the state’s revenue even more. There is a slight decrease in 2016-17 compared to 2015-16, it is not much because of alcoholism but the effect of the ban on bondage is high. He said that the ban on screening had a tremendous impact on the registry. There was a tremendous loss in its revenue, which also showed the gross recovery of the state.

Nitish Kumar also said that due to the prohibition of liquor, the purchase and sale of other consumer goods has increased, which has largely been compensated by the state’s revenue due to alcoholism. Deshsahar was closed in Bihar on April 1, 2016. Later, on 5th April, full liquor ban was i.e. indigenous, English liquor but after the cabinet decision was banned.
Strict laws were enacted in the assembly for the liquor to be smuggled in some way, but on September 30 the Patna High Court canceled the law. But the government not only introduced the new law of prohibition on October 2 but instead of approaching the Supreme Court against the decision of the Patna High Court. The decision of Nitish Kumar’s prohibition was highly appreciated.

More than 90 thousand people were sent to jail for the smuggling of alcohol, then the protesters started saying that the Bihar government would suffer tremendous losses due to prohibition, because the state government’s earnings under liquor policy was Rs.5000 crores, but According to Nitish Kumar, the government has compensated it by putting new tax. There is a huge increase in the number of tourists. In this case, other states can also adopt Nitish Kumar’s prohibition policy.
