Nitish spoke at the meeting of the niti aayog-Bihar should get special state status

    new delhi:Nitish Kumar,Chief Minister of Bihar, demanded special status for Bihar in the meeting of the niti aayog. Simultaneously, he also demanded special packages for militancy-hit districts.
    Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined the third meeting of the Governing Council of the niti aayog headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Sunday. On this occasion, he said that the special needs of Bihar should be provided to us by providing resources.
    He also picked up a case of not getting approved centrally under Centrally Sponsored Schemes. He said that inclusive economic and social environment inclusive thinking and vision is necessary for the development of the country. The Chief Minister again raised the issue of granting special state status to Bihar in the meeting of the Policy Commission.
    Damage to Bihar from standard of distribution
    The Chief Minister said that on the basis of the recommendation of the 14th Finance Commission, the horizontal standard of distribution of funds is harming Bihar. It is being said that the combined share of all the states has increased from 32 per cent to 42 per cent, but the amount of central taxes received from Bihar is only five per cent increase. This extremely uneven effect of 14th Finance Commission recommendation must be kept in mind.
    Difference between budgetary provision and actual amount
    The Chief Minister said that the centrality of centrally sponsored schemes has been reduced considerably in view of the recommendation of the 14th Finance Commission. It has adverse effects on Bihar. In 2015-16, approved centrally-sponsored schemes were worth Rs 23,988 crore and 15,932 crore was received. Similarly, the approved centrally in the year 2016-17 was Rs 28777 crores and in fact only Rs 17143 crores was received.

    Provide 4163.71 crores immediately under BRGF
    The Chief Minister also raised the issue of pending proposal and amount under the BRGF. He said that the proposal of Rs 902.08 crore is also pending with the Policy Commission. Similarly, Rs 4163.71 crores will be left for remittance plans. Make it available soon.

    Special state status
    The Chief Minister said that a national level positive policy initiative is necessary for the backward states to overcome backwardness within a time limit. In this sequence, he reiterated the demand for special state status for Bihar again.
