CM Nitish announced new electricity tariffs, electricity was cheaper by Rs 4

bihar[patna]: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a grant of 2952 crores for the financial year starting from April 1 while reducing the burden of electricity tariff raised by the Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission. In this village, poor and farmers have been given more attention. Urban and non-home consumers are somewhat expensive and industrial consumers have to bear the burden of more expensive electricity.

On Friday, the CM announced a grant in the assembly. So-called tariff petition was filed with the grant funds from the government, so far, distribution companies were received from the government. But it was found that consumers do not know the actual price of the power supply. Therefore a tariff petition of non-grant was filed in 2017-18 under a thought-provoking strategy and the commission gave the electricity rate. On granting direct subsidy to the consumers instead of the company, the CM said that the government intends to increase the capacity of the distribution companies. Right now, the company does not have an accurate assessment of the situation.

The company will be closely monitored to reduce transmission-distribution losses. At the same time, the consumer will also know what the power is getting at the cost and how much money he has to pay after grant. The details of the grant from the state government on the electricity bill will be given. After the grant, people will have to deposit the remaining amount. This will bring transparency in the whole process.

Affordable electricity from UP-Bengal: CM said that the rate at which the electricity will get electricity from Bihar in April, it is also cheaper than the electricity rate in UP and Bengal in 2016-17. 76% of Bihar’s population depends on agriculture. Therefore, grants have been given more subsidy to agriculture and irrigation, rural population and Kutir Jyoti consumer of BPL category.

This kind of experiment has been used for the first time in the country. The Central Government has also appreciated it. People should see it in the right perspective. That day is not far when a year later, this unique experiment of Bihar will begin to emulate other states too. – Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister
