The BJP government in Uttarakhand is considering withdrawing criminal cases against its newly elected legislators.
Of the 70 MLAs in the state, criminal cases are registered, out of which 17 belong to BJP, four are from Congress and one independents.
BJP state president Ajay Bhatt had told a local newspaper that there are many cases which will be re-considered and criminal cases registered on them.
BJP says that criminal cases registered on its legislators are politically motivated by malice.
Munna Singh Chauhan, MLA from the party spokesman and Vikasnagar, affirms this statement.
Chauhan says that there is a need to face wrong cases in public life and therefore they should be reviewed.
